The Pittsburg Steelers will meet the Green Bay Packers for a Texas showdown.

Welcome with a warm Texas Howdy!

The stadium has reached capacity seating  More than 5,000 seats are being added.  External party pavillions have been built to accommodate on-premise Big Game watching gatherings – starting at $200 a person.  Sounds like a lot of fun.  But for that price plus expenses for transportation and food, you and your buddies could purchase your own big screen TV plus some pretty good grub, and avoid the traffic.

If you are fortunate enough to be going to the game, be sure to check the traffic report and leave with plenty of time for travel, parking, and seating.  The less stress from your commute, the more energy you’ll have to enjoy the game.

Oh yeah, don’t forget to bundle up.  Though this is Texas, it looks like the Packers brought the Green Bay temperatures with them.

Last night it rained in the Texas region, then turned icy when the blast of northern air hit early this morning.  Many businesses and schools closed in the DFW area, and numerous thoroughfares were impacted as 18 wheelers spun out. 

DFW Airport and Love Field Airport closed down for a while, but now that the precipitation has moved on, they are both back in operation.  The storm is now causing blizzard conditions for Oklahoma, Missouri, and Illinois.  Record low temperature are expected to be in the low teens in the North Texas area.  Streets and roads remain treacherous since very little melting is expected.

You should expect a shutdown of ground traffic and airport delays and closures.
